Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is pleased to announce the opening of the four newest restaurants in the North Terminal. The restaurants include: Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, an international chain restaurant inspired by ancient Asian cooking; Brioche Dorée, a French-style café bakery that offers fresh baked breads, pastries and freshly sliced meats; Chick-fil-A, the largest family-owned business in North America, known for its chicken sandwiches; and Anita’s Kitchen, a Detroit original, offering premier Lebanese and Middle Eastern meals for more than four decades.

The restaurants represent the third part of a multi-phased dining redevelopment project. Pei Wei opened on December 20. Brioche Dorée opened on December 21. Chick-fil-A opened on January 6 and Anita’s Kitchen opened on February 19.

“We are so excited that our multimillion-dollar dining redevelopment plan is nearing completion,” said Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton. “During the development of this project, we wanted to ensure DTW was offering dining options tailored to meet all of our customer’s dietary needs. Based on the feedback we’ve received, I’m confident this was accomplished.”

The redevelopment program includes 15 food and beverage concepts, many of them Metro Detroit favorites. The restaurants are operated by four concessionaires (HMSHost; DTW North Partners, LLC; NAC-MAC Concessions, LLC and McDonald’s USA) who exceeded the Airport Authority’s requirements for partnering with ACDBEs—Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The ACDBEs for the North Terminal food and beverage program are: AP United, LLC; AJA & Associates, LLC; Ellis Infinity, LLC; Jamjomar VIII, LLC; Rodriquez Group, LLC and W & W Diversified Services, Inc.

“Anita’s Kitchen is thrilled to join the dynamic group of restaurants servicing travelers in Detroit Metro’s North Terminal,” said Anita’s Kitchen Proprietor Jen Farah Wegrzyn. “Working together with global restaurateur HMSHost, we look forward to introducing the cherished Lebanese dishes by which Anita’s Kitchen has come to be known, and to a much larger international audience. For over 40 years, Anita’s Kitchen has prided itself on presenting old world family traditions in a fresh, new world approach. With that same goal at heart, we are excited to enter into this new chapter for AK.”

To ensure a variety of food options are available for customers at all times, the transformation is divided into four phases. The final phase, which includes Outback Steakhouse and Jolly Pumpkin is expected to be completed in the spring.
