FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
| Is there a special form I have to use to make a FOIA request? |
| There is not a specific form that must be used to make a request. The request simply must be in writing, must reasonably describe the records you seek, and must also provide any other specific information that the Airport Authority requires. |
In making your request you should be as specific as possible when describing the records you are seeking. It is not necessary for you to provide the name or title of a requested record, but the more specific you are about the records or types of records that you seek, the more likely it will be that the Airport Authority will be able to locate those records. |
Where should I send my requests? |
| Please send your request by U.S. mail, fax or email to the following individual/address; |

Please note that a FOIA request made by facsimile, electronic mail, or other electronic transmission is not deemed to be received by the public body until 1 business day after the electronic transmission is made. MCL 15.235(1) |
What are the fees? |
| A public body may charge a fee for a public record search, the necessary copying of a public record for inspection, or for providing a copy of a public record. MCL 15.234(1) |
The fees are as follows: |
| Search/compilation/duplication of public records – $12.39/hour |
|
|
| Compact Disk (CD) - $10.00/each |
|
|
| Photocopies of public records - $0.15/page |
If the fee exceeds $50.00, a deposit will be required for ˝ of the total fee before the records will be released. MCL 15.234(2) |
The Airport Authority will not charge for the cost of search, examination, review and deletion and separation of exempt from non-exempt information unless failure to do so would result in unreasonably high costs to the Airport Authority. MCL 15.234(3) |
