DETROIT (Sept. 5, 2018) - Today, tram upgrades will begin in Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s (DTW) McNamara Terminal. From Sept. 5 through Nov. 15, 2018, only one tram will be operating, transporting travelers to both ends of the terminal’s Concourse A. As a result, travelers should expect slightly longer wait times. The upgrades include the installation of new software and hardware.
There will be three phases of the tram improvement project beginning in September 2018 and concluding in April 2019.

One tram will be operating. Expect longer wait times.
Nov. 16, 2018 – Jan. 7, 2019
Both trams will operate during the holiday season.
Jan. 8 – April 11, 2019
Both trams will be out of service. Travelers should allow time to walk to their gates. Moving walkways will be operating. As always, wheelchair assistance will be available.

Both trams are expected to be operating on April 12, 2019. If there are any changes to the schedule, information will be posted on Detroit Metro Airport’s website – www.metroairport.com.
