WHAT: Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) and Delta Air Lines will once again host Michigan-based Paws With A Cause® to provide a setting to help train puppies destined to become assistance dogs. The puppies will have the opportunity to ride the trams, experience the tunnel to Concourses B/C and board a Delta aircraft.
WHEN: Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
WHERE: Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s McNamara Terminal
WHY: With the help of volunteers who raise and socialize the puppies for the first year of their lives, PAWS® Dogs are then custom-trained to become Assistance Dogs for people with disabilities. In order for the dogs to be comfortable in various settings they may experience later in life, they must be exposed to as many different types of environments as possible.
HOW: Members of the media will have the opportunity to interview PAWS® representatives as well as videotape/photograph the puppies and their trainers on site. Any media outlet wishing to attend must RSVP by Monday, May 20. Full names and birthdates of those attending must be provided to access the secured area.
